Have you ever wondered what it would be like to spend some time in a convent? Each year many
young women find the answer to that very question by coming on a retreat with the Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia in Nashville, Tennessee. A retreat is a time when someone can have quiet time to think and pray and listen to God, and learn more about what it means to live the Catholic faith more deeply. During the retreats at St. Cecilia, young women learn how the sisters pray and play. They have a chance to spend time with Jesus at Mass and hear the sisters sing the prayers of the Divine Office. The young women on retreat join the younger sisters in games of soccer and Frisbee on the Motherhouse lawn. By talking with the sisters, they learn what it means to belong totally to the Lord as a sister. Then they are able to ask God if this is the life to which He is calling them. Maybe you too will come on retreat some day, and see the beauty and joy of the life of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia.
